The study aimed to clarify the risks of geopolitical tensions and highlight their repercussions on the Port of Aden and the oil sector by identifying the main factors affecting Yemen’s national economy, given its strategic location overlooking the crossroads of international trade routes. It sought to demonstrate the impact of the instability experienced by the country during the period (2014–2024) on economic life in a direct manner. The study employed the descriptive–analytical method to explain the nature of these tensions and their dimensions on ship movements, the volume of exports and imports, and oil revenues. The study reached a set of findings, the most important of which is that geopolitical tensions in the region have directly contributed to weakening commercial shipping activity in the Port of Aden, which was reflected in the decline of activities related to maritime transport and logistics services. This has reduced the port’s ability to perform its traditional role as a pivotal center for regional and international maritime trade.
Keywords: Geopolitical tensions, oil exports, fiscal deficit, economic diversification.
