Abstract

International criminal justice did not come like this without any significant efforts. Rather, efforts aimed at realizing it were the goal of many individuals and states, given the gravity of the international crimes committed. International criminal justice emerged, in particular, with urgency after the end of the Second World War, directing the international community to work on establishing an integrated and comprehensive general system for international criminal justice, through which the international community aimed to establish an international penal code, in order to address international crimes, Which would threaten the security and safety of mankind, based on the idea that justice is a guarantee for that, and efforts ranged between failure and success, but the emergence of international changes, especially after the end of the Cold War, and the impact of globalization accelerated the embodiment of the international criminal justice system, through the adoption of the Rome Statute, which It entered into force in 2002 and embodied the dream of humanity to establish and consolidate mechanisms of international criminal justice. The establishment of the court came as a qualitative and important step in the history of international criminal justice compared to its previous judicial experiences, where a permanent and independent judicial body was established that deals with the exercise of global justice away from the traditional restrictions that were imposed on the national or international courts.
